Paula’s self-described design aesthetic is “classic with a twist,” and her modern-day style icons range from the timeless Barbara Barry to the bold and brazen Kelly Wearstler.  Utilizing a mix of custom and found pieces and encouraging clients to surround themselves with things they love, she designs spaces that are understated, authentic and full of personality.

Paula is driven to create spaces that tell a story and ultimately resonate with the client. She has a true love of design and feels extremely fortunate to be living in the stylish little city of Charleston, doing what she’s always dreamed of doing.

Paula’s sense of style and penchant for design was sparked while growing up in the picturesque northwest corner of the country. After earning her BA in Interior Design at the Interior Designers Institute in sunny Southern California, Paula returned home to the Seattle area where she worked for two of the city’s top firms:  Susan Marinello Interiors and Callison, one of the world’s leading international architecture and design firms.

In her 10 years in the industry, she’s had the pleasure of working alongside distinguished designers, architects, developers, engineers and builders on both residential and commercial projects.  These experiences have strengthened her appreciation for taking an integrated, collaborative approach to the design process.

After a stop in Boston, Paula and her husband Tim have settled into Charleston with their daughter Cora and pup Otto. PJM Interiors was born in 2013 and serves clients in Charleston, Seattle and anywhere in between.
